Morning Meditation
A 20-minute guided meditation combining mindfulness practice with deep body sensing.
To truly integrate presence and inner guidance into our daily life, the key is to sense deeply into our physical body. While best done in the morning, this 20-minute guided meditation, which combines mindfulness practice with sensing, can be done at any time of day. In this exercise you will first be introduced to the strength, steadfastness, solidity, will, and limitless capacity of the belly center. Next, you will explore the unique intelligence of the heart center, and the clear, discerning knowing of the head center. Finally, you will be invited to sense into the immediacy of your limbs to incorporate these capacities into your everyday activities. Hemi-Sync® frequencies create a relaxed, coherent mind state in which this experience can unfold. Voiced by Garrett Stevens.

Morning Meditation

I was looking for a simple brief guided meditation that employed binaural beats. This one turned out to be perfect for me. I like to employ a combination of concentration and mindfulness within the same sitting which this does. Also, I like its strong focus on the body and particularly the belly or hara. I employ Om-Ah-Hung as my chant in one section and this emphasizes a broad focus on body, speech, and heart-mind. One note is an error in how the expiratory phase of breathing is described. The word “contraction” is used by the guide to describe the expiratory movement of the chest. Actually, in relaxed breathing there is no muscle contraction on the expiratory phase, as the chest wall and belly simply relax allowing gravity and tissue elasticity to return the torso to the end of the expiratory phase.
